OUR HISTORY
Surface to Surface was founded in 1992 with a clear purpose: to build the most effective bentonite mud mixers available to HDD contractors. Furthermore, our founders brought over 25 years of hands-on drilling experience to every design decision. In the late 1990s, our drill manufacturing division was acquired by Ingersoll Rand, allowing us to focus exclusively on developing and refining our proprietary high shear mixing technology. Today, STS mixing systems are trusted by drilling contractors across North America, South America, Europe, and Australia — and consequently, our patented four-point shear system remains unmatched in the industry.
